2016 marks 40 years since the founding of Scottish Women’s Aid. To mark this anniversary a special project- Speaking Out– has been developed to explore the history of the organisation. A part of this project will be an exhibition at the Museum of Edinburgh, which will open in November.
These masks were created this week in a workshop for women accessing the services of Women’s Aid. We hope they can be displayed in the final exhibition.
This week I also visited Old’s Cool, an intergenerational project run by the Citadel Youth Centre. The previous session I ran with Old’s Cool in May was mentioned in this newsletter by St Columba’s Hospice.
I also visited Forthland Lodge to run a reminiscence session and the Museums Alive volunteers ran a great session for residents at Ferrylee Care Home.
