I haven’t posted in a while as I have been busy working on a new exhibition. Proud City: LGBTQIA+ Edinburgh opened on Saturday at the People’s Story Museum following a great launch event on Friday night.
Proud City marks 10 years since the exhibition Rainbow City: Stories from Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Edinburgh opened at the City Art Centre. The exhibition showcases museum collections, items loaned and donated by the LGBTQIA+ community as well as a specially commissioned film exploring life in Edinburgh in 2016. It provides an insight into LGBTQIA+ history and explores the lives of people in Edinburgh today.
I would like to say thank you to all who have been involved in developing the exhibition. In particular to all of those who have appeared in the film, loaned or donated items or volunteered. A special thanks to LGBT Health and Wellbeing for working with us to make this happen and to the funders: the Museums Association’s Transformers microfunding scheme, supported in Scotland by Museums Galleries Scotland.
I’m obsessively in love with Edinburgh, and I am overjoyed to see this. Looking forward to visiting soon. Thank you so much for doing this!
Thanks for your kind words. Do come and visit. The exhibition is on until October.

Great post on the LGBTQIA exhibit at the People’s Story Museum in Edinburgh, Scotland. (One of my favorite places on earth.)
Thank you very much!
