Feeling Festive

2015-12-16 14.54.34

Yesterday was our last Museums Alive meeting of 2015. Here is a photograph of the team tucking into mince pies at our festive social. Thanks to all the volunteers for their work and to our great colleagues in Health and Social Care!

A quick round up of news for Friday and Saturday last week: On Friday I visited Penumbra to run an object handling session using our Sports and Hobbies reminiscence box. It was lovely to meet the group and great to hear all their stories.

Also the Custom House Facebook page has shared some great photographs of the Christmas Market last Saturday.

Remember if you would like some more Christmas cheer: 26 Children’s Winters is on at the Museum of Childhood and we are now up to day 17 on the advent calendar. At Lauriston Castle this weekend there are wreath making workshops.

About edinburghmuseumsoutreach

I'm the Outreach & Access Manager at Edinburgh Museums & Galleries (the museums service of the City of Edinburgh Council). I take the museums out to community groups and schools. I really enjoy meeting lots of people of different ages and backgrounds and helping them connect with our collections. I love showing people some of the amazing objects that we hold and I like helping them to remember the past or to create something amazing.
