Previously unseen images of Earl Haig in Capital Collections exhibition

media

My colleagues have developed this interesting exhibition on Capital Collections which gives an insight into the life of Earl Haig.

Earl Haig commanded the British forces on the Western Front in World War 1.  This exhibition shows some previously unseen photographs of his childhood in Scotland and rise through the military ranks on service in Africa and India, his marriage and his connections with royalty.

If you want to find out more, there are displays exploring Haig’s life at the Museum of Edinburgh.

About edinburghmuseumsoutreach

I'm the Outreach & Access Manager at Edinburgh Museums & Galleries (the museums service of the City of Edinburgh Council). I take the museums out to community groups and schools. I really enjoy meeting lots of people of different ages and backgrounds and helping them connect with our collections. I love showing people some of the amazing objects that we hold and I like helping them to remember the past or to create something amazing.
