Visiting Teachers and Museums Alive

Yesterday was our first Museums Alive visit of 2013 to Drumbrae Day Centre. All went really well and it was lovely to meet some new service users there too.

On a totally different topic, I thought I’d also post some photographs of a project that I have run over a couple of years with the Visiting Teachers. They support children with visual impairments and over the past two years have brought groups of children to visit Lauriston Castle for tactile tours and art activities. These are some of the photographs of the 2012 visit. You can see more photographs like this on our Flickr page.

About edinburghmuseumsoutreach

I'm the Outreach & Access Manager at Edinburgh Museums & Galleries (the museums service of the City of Edinburgh Council). I take the museums out to community groups and schools. I really enjoy meeting lots of people of different ages and backgrounds and helping them connect with our collections. I love showing people some of the amazing objects that we hold and I like helping them to remember the past or to create something amazing.
